This is an example of a minds on portion of a grade 2 Drama lesson that is integrated with Social Studies and Health. This activity involves using improvisational skills to create a story where each person builds off the next, using the next letter of the alphabet to start the sentence off. A potential accommodation for this activity could be to provide students with prompts to help them form a sentence to the story. Following this, we were placed into groups of 4-5 where we had to create a positive 4 scene story about a new student coming to a new school. This activity utilized the Role on the Wall Drama strategy. Some examples of possible accommodations for this activity or similar ones, could be to provide extra time for the planning of the 4 scene story, assigning a shorter scene story, allowing other modes of presenting other than directly in front of the class.

This is part of a lesson showing of a number of drama strategies that can be used within cross curricular drama lessons. For example, the strategy known as 'writing in role' allows literacy integration where students transform into character and complete a writing piece using the point of view of their character. Side coaching is a technique that can be used in all of the arts, as well as other subject matter where it provides students with quick on the spot feedback. These are all great strategies to incorporate in lessons to promote student achievement and well being.
Entry #3
This is a set of fairy tale books that can be incorporated into drama lessons. Students can pick a fairy tale where they role play and choose a character to depict. Students can have the freedom to go along with the already known tale or use their creativity to change up the story. This would be cross curricular with oral communication. This allows students to take something familiar and learn in an engagingly fun way. Such an activity could also be extended where students can take a known fairytale and continue the story in any way that they would like, through writing, typing, filming, etc.

As Drama class comes to a closing, I wanted to make my final post a personal reflection on the overall course. This course as a whole has opened my eyes to unique ways of engaging students in Drama while incorporating other subject areas and having inclusion as the foundation of the lessons. It is incredible the power that Drama holds to teach students about sensitive and important topics, such as bullying, and diversity. If given the chance to teach Drama in the future, I will utilize all of the resources I have gained throughout this course to the best of my ability.
